Email subscriptions

If you subscribe, we store your email address and the delivery preferences you choose so that we can send devotional content and account-related updates. Email subscription data is separate from the anonymous reader-response data described below. You can change your preferences or unsubscribe from email at any time.

Reader responses without an account

You do not need an account, name, or email address to respond to a reading. The response control is a private signal about how a particular piece of content landed with you; it is not a rating of Scripture or a public post.

What we store

• A device-scoped pseudonymous ID. Your browser creates a random ID and stores it locally under 365-subject-id. It is not your name, email address, account ID, or an advertising ID. It is used to recognise your own response and prevent duplicate responses for the same content.
• Your response. We store the content namespace and content ID, your resonance response, any of the four descriptive tags you select, and created and updated timestamps. A later save replaces your earlier response for that device and content item.
• Operational request information. The feedback record does not store your IP address. Service logs may temporarily include an IP address and content type for abuse prevention and operational troubleshooting; the raw pseudonymous ID is not written to the feedback log message.

Retention

Active reader signals are retained for 24 months after their last update, then removed under the reader-signal retention policy. This gives the editorial team time to learn across a full annual cycle without keeping a device identifier indefinitely.

Common Good does not currently collect free-text reader reflections: the planned reader_reflections table and its submission workflow are not active. If that feature is ever enabled, the planned baseline is to retain a reflection for up to 90 days after it is closed, with an unresolved reflection reviewed at least every 30 days and never kept beyond 180 days without a documented governance decision. Any such feature would be private by default and subject to separate consent and pastoral safeguards.

The free-text feature must remain disabled until the governance gate in the FEEDBACK_FREETEXT_ENABLED record has been approved. No free-text response is being silently collected by the current feedback controls.

Your choices and rights

• Access and portability: ask us for a copy of the reader signals we can identify from your device ID, or for a copy of your email subscription data.
• Correction or withdrawal: use the feedback control again to change your resonance response or tags. A response can be removed, and tag selection is saved as a complete replacement rather than appended forever.
• Deletion: you can clear this site's local storage to stop using the current device ID. Clearing it does not by itself remove older server records; email hello@commongood.kingdomdemocracy.global to request deletion of reader signals or subscription data. Please include the relevant email address or device ID if you have it; we will use it only to locate the requested records.
• Opting out: you can choose not to respond at all. Reading daily content does not require feedback, an account, or email subscription.

We will not join a device ID to an email address or future account unless you explicitly ask us to claim or connect that history. If you have a privacy question or believe we have handled your information incorrectly, contact us at the address above.
