Paul’s claim in Galatians is not that distinctions vanish, but that the deepest identity is given in Christ. You are all sons of God through faith. You have put on Christ. In him, the hierarchy of worth is broken. The family resemblance of God’s household begins to show.
Migration can strip dignity through a thousand small humiliations: being stared at, mistrusted, misunderstood, reduced to a number, spoken about as a problem. So we pray for processes that are fair, and for public speech that is truthful without being cruel. We pray for the courage to look people in the face.
Lord, restore dignity. Teach us to remember our own deliverance, and to refuse the easy drift into contempt. Clothe us with Christ, so that our instincts are shaped by mercy. And in our common life, let the vulnerable be treated as we would treat brethren at the table: with patience, honour, and protection.
